(Magazine Feature Stories & Books)
As a Sr. Photo Editor at National Geographic Magazine (2002-2019) I oversaw the photographic coverages of 75+ feature stories, and I executively produced multiple related short films. These were deep collaborations with talented photojournalists. I had fun researching and developing the visual coverage plans across print, digital, and social platforms; gave critical feedback to photographers/filmmakers in field; selected best storytelling images from 35,000+ shot/story; collaborated with designers on print and digital iterations; and managed photo budgets. Some of the most rewarding stories were collaborations on high-investment projects with external stakeholders: Rolex, The North Face, Mayo Clinic, Cornell Ornithology Lab, and Pulitzer Center.
